Crystal - Practice Manager/Head Veterinary Nurse

Crystal has always been fascinated with animals since she was a child. She began her career at a very young age raising kittens, puppies, and even farm animals at home. She has worked in the veterinary field since 1997 in a variety of settings; technician in the intensive care unit, critical/emergency care, neonatal, and extensive dental training. Crystal joined Star Meadow in 2008 where her compassion and experience have elevated her to the position of practice manager. She is a proud wife and mother of three great children and shares her life with four dogs, three cats, and one horse.

Christi - Head Receptionist/Inventory Manager

Christi has been passionate about animals ever since she was a child. She has worked in the veterinary field for over twenty-three years in all aspects of the veterinary hospital, ranging from technician to receptionist. She joined the Star Meadow team in 2004. Christi currently lives at home with her beautiful daughter, her dog Andie, and her two cats, Kodie and Ollie.

Pat - Kennel Manager

Pat has worked at Star Meadow for over seven years. She has worked in many aspects of the hospital from reception to assistant to boarding. She shares her home with her german shepherd Mia, and her three cats, Mariah, Miiko, and Mote.

Tara - Certified Veterinary Technician

Tara has worked in the veterinary field for more than a dozen years. She rejoined the Star Meadow team in the winter of 2011. She worked in an emergency hospital for several years and is very comfortable dealing with everything from routine visits to critical situations. Tara also has over ten years experience in wildlife rehabilitation. She has rehabilitated baby squirrels, bunnies, and birds which have been orphaned. She also has experience caring for newborn kittens, including their round-the-clock bottle feedings, some of who have become permanent members of her family. She lives with her fiance, Jason, and their six cats. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, birdwatching, hiking nature trails, making jewelry and yoga.

Sarah - Veterinary Technician

Sarah joined the Star Meadow team in early 2011. Originally from Michigan, she earned a bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from Eastern Michigan University. She lives in East Hampton with her husband, son, four cats, two bearded dragons, and basset hound named Blu. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking and painting.

Kyle - Veterinary Technician

We welcomed Kyle to the Star Meadow team in summer 2012. She became a certified veterinary technician in 2006, yet her love for the veterinary field started very early when she began volunteering at a Wildlife/Nature Center. She graduated from Mount Ida College with a B.S. from the veterinary techinician program. Her interests include dentistry, feline behavior, and pediatric care. She has owned quite an array of animals including: dogs, cats, hedgehog, flying squirrel, fish, and hermit crabs. She lives in West Hartford with her husband Mic, two cats Monty and Alex, and a rescued miniature schnauzer, Buffy. When not at work she enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, and baking.

Brooke - Veterinary Assistant

Brooke joined the Star Meadow team in 2009. She lives with her dog, Gus, and three cats, Spacey, Juniper, and Tegan.

Bryce - Veterinary Assistant

Bryce joined the Star Meadow team in summer 2012. He studied biology at the University of Wyoming, then zoology at Southern CT State University. He has always been interested in working with animals, and has held a variety of positions. He worked as a seasonal zookeeper at Beardsley Zoo, as a surgical technician at an animal hospital in Naugatuck, CT, and ran a reptile rescue program for five years. Bryce lives with his wife Melissa, their dog Sam, and their two cats, Bunny and Baby.

Desiree - Kennel Attendant, Veterinary Assistant

Desiree joined the Star Meadow team in spring 2012. She is currently attending the veterinary technology program at Penn Foster College. Her love of animals started as a little girl with a horse named Star. Since then, equine companionship has been a big part of her life. In her spare time she enjoys equestrian sports, drawing, painting, and trips to the beach. She shares her life with her cat named Beans.

Jamie - Receptionist

Jamie has been in the veterinary field for over seven years, and joined the Star Meadow team in 2011. She has an amazing daughter who is the joy of her life and also wants to be in the veterinary field when she grows up. Jamie recently adopted a new best friend, a shepherd mix named Bo.

Heather - Kennel Assistant

From pet supply retail, to dog training, to grooming, to helping manage and working in a large doggie day care; kennel assistant, Heather has an arsenal of pet-related skils and experience under her belt. At Star Meadow since August, she takes loving care of all the pets, and she loves learning all she can from the veterinarians and technicians with voracious gusto! At home, she prefers quiet, relaxing diversions of drawing, reading, cooking, and video games. She and her boyfriend, Chris, share their lives with their best buddy, a husky-aussie mix named SoCo.

Gianna - Kennel Staff

Gianna works for Star Meadow's kennel during her summers off from college. She attends Salve Regina and will be a sophomore this fall. When not taking excellent care of your pet during his/her stay at Star Meadow, she is probably playing with her Wheaten terrier named Lucy or her Jack Russel Terrier named Aiden. She also has two miniature horses, Diablo and Leo, chickens and fish at home. She has been riding horses for seven years, and now teaches children to ride. In her spare time she fosters rescue dogs and enjoys hiking.
